I've noticed yours here. The new ones are quite different, but also well-regarded. I did note that a review of the new ones said they respond better to gradual diesel-like increases in power rather than snappy sprints. Which means it's perfect for my power delivery type. One day. I won't replace my R2 pre-emptively with one, but if anything happens to it, that's likely the answer.
Oh and hey, for your "bars cover hub" fit, does that happen on the hoods, in the drops, or both? Mine are like that on hoods, but in the drops the hub is forward in my vision.
That's on the hoods, but I'm not sure it's useful anymore. Bars have shorter reach and brifters have longer necks. In any case, it was anecdotal, from the guy who did my bike fitting 23 years ago.
