Until we have data from the pro testing that shows that riders who test positive don’t transmit it within the peloton, I’m only riding with people I know are at least as invested in safety as I am. AG’s coach’s wife had blood cancer and a marrow transplant - if he wants to do a ride, I’ll go with him. One of his athletes, who’s actually AG’s coworker as well, was in Cancun last week. To him I’d say “love you buddy, see you after we’re comfortable with the vaccines”.
Yeah, this is one of the reasons that I stayed away from even my small groups rides for almost two months after they'd restarted - I wanted to get a feel for how/if they were actually practicing precautions. Group chat showed people excusing themselves after showing symptoms, a few going in for testing, and keeping distance at truncated "recovery" sessions afterwards, etc. At that point I felt better about any additional exposure risk with the group.
