I broke the metrics on every spoken and written language test administered as a child. If it hadn’t been for school I would have read more and developed that more. School gets no credit for that. It does get considerable credit for my various mental issues, though.

I was also the kid bringing up imaginary numbers in third grade when told we can’t do square roots of negative numbers.

Most of what school gets credit for is Crispus Attucks and a few other details. It did traumatize me a great deal in many large and small ways.
I hated school passionately. I would have dropped out if not for fear of my father. Some of my most miserable memories are of school. When I found out I could graduate early if I had enough credits I switched to a general major and took summer classes and graduated @16. Then came alcohol.
