The Fizik Terra X5 does seem like an awesome choice indeed, I bought a pair once and they seemed really good, my pair turned out to be too big so I returned them and ended upgrading to the Fizik Infinito X1 and while the Infinito is a higher end shoe I think the X5 is a much more sensible choice given the Infinito's price.
And within your budget there's the Giro Cylinder it's $140 and available in a regular and HV version. I'd love to try one of Giro's HV shoes as I have very wide fit they should fit nicely.
There's also the Shimano SH-ME400 it's $125 on amazon and I've always had good luck with Shimano's shoes they've lasted me 2-3 years of constant use.
