Got 7D a few years ago to be my beach bike.
Have ridden it a lot since, not just at the beach.
it is more than the sum of its lower spec parts,
did not want to mess with a front derailleur.
After riding it a short while, i ruined a stock tire.
replaced both with Fat Franks, swapped out the
original pedals with MKS metal road and replaced
the seat with a Brooks B68- comfortable to ride for miles.
doubt the 21D version would have really been a benefit.
should something happen to my 7D, would get the 9D
And not worry about any price difference.
