I'll second the Crosscut. A good frame and they show up pretty often. I rode one as a commuter with drop bars and bar-end shifters for a couple years, then passed it on to a friend who rode it for two years and then passed it on to a neighbor. I posted a small Trek 790 (1990 Tru-Temper) in the craigslist thread the other day. That was a very high quality lugged 700c hybrid. Also, some of the Bridgestone XO bike were 700c but they're harder to find. KHS made some nice hybrids in the mid-90s too.
