At just about mile 100 of a double century, I started feeling weak and light headed. The feeding station was less than 5 miles away. All of a sudden, I started getting tunnel vision. It was strange watching as I lost my peripheral vision and then watched it close in like a narrow tube. Got off the bike for 5 minutes and finished what little water I had than limped into the food stop, where I gorged and then packed my jersey pockets with even more. Finished the ride without incident and felt fine, just sore and tired.

The only time time I had tunnel vision before was at a ski area about 15 years previous where I passed out momentarily. Glad that didn’t happen on the bike.
