It's not weight, though aluminum rims will weigh a lot less than the steel that's on the bike now. It's for safety. Steel is VERY hard to stop when even a little wet. Thanks for pointing that out. I did think the main advantage would be weight, but greatly appreciate the safety callout as I definately foresee hills and fog being part of my riding experience! Cheers
