I've found a very good place here to pack bikes - did an excellent job for my cousin for $45, and they understand about the cost of exceeding girth limitations!
I haven't mentally sorted out how I might be affected from a liability point of view.

UPDATE: With my current job and home workload, I really don't see finding time to provide any assistance beyond perhaps looking at an item and reporting my impression of it. Even that is a chunk of time, and I can't promise to "do it right away." I think I need to be NOT A FACILITATOR.
If there's a way to be taken off the list of willing assistants, I need it to be done.
