Before Social Security went paperless, they popped a questionaire in the mail once per year, just to see if their charge still lives there. In my, and all expats' cases, they duly put my address on the envelope, put a US stamp on it and sent it out. Every year, they would cut me off for non-return of the form. Every year, I called the embassy in Mexico City and they straightened it out. And around and around she goes; where she stops nobody knows.
