I wish I could believe some of those online calculators, but the numbers I get out of them are quite frankly, wrong.
My current bike is a result of years of experimenting and multiple fits by various systems, culminating in getting fitted up by a renound cycling physiologist. My top tube is 605mm TT, stem 120mm, and saddle setback 90mm. Something like the Competitive Cyclist pumps out figures like 570mm TT, 120mm stem, and 70mm saddle setback.
I didn't say they are the definitive answer. But a better starting point then basing the framesize only on peoples height.
Then it takes time to fine tune the fit to how you prefer to ride...
