I would stay away from folding bikes - I would rather have quickrelease wheels.
Actually... can yo have quick release wheels on 22? At least front should be possible.
Distance.. not sure. Somewhere between 1 to 4 hours I think. Is not going to be the purpose of the trip - maybe half of it.

small wheel bike that fits an adult
- I think this is what I am looking for
I use to go with the bike on the hills long ago - 15 years or more but I would like to try again. I tried on a 26 recently and is not something I could do/like in a forest. I dont have time to build my own bike from parts and stuff (that would be cool...) So Ideally I am looking for a ready to buy bike.
But if not possible then I guess I will have to start making a plan for building from parts.

So.. I think I will go with a 22.
would this kind of frame be a good start? 2017 MX Expert XL | Redline Bicycles
I would put on it -
- front suspension,
- quick release
- maybe bigger tires if possible (at least rear),
- mud protections (if possible)
- internal gears
- a 24 inch bike handles - the 22 look too high? will have to test on that.
