For most people, this probably doesn't mean much, but it was a major privilege for me yesterday afternoon to turn up to the vollies briefing, and (re)meet some of the riders as they turned up for their later meeting, including the guy mentioned in this thread. He is one of the legends of this type of riding whom I met also on a prevent Tasmanian event.
The event director, Andrew, also is someone who has done another wonderful job in assembling the format and vollies to do what is happening... and I am happy to be a ringer of the now familiar cow bell (sourced unbelievably in France on one of our trips) at the finish of the 600km event.
