Sirrus Elite Alloy vs Sirrus Elite Carbon vs Sirrus X Comp Carbon

Not sure which to get in terms of value, obviously all 3 are good bikes at this price range. I am a college student, and will most likely take this bike to college, my trips aren't that long probably gonna use it for only 3 or less miles on mainly road/sidewalk surfaces. I do hope to be able to bike 10+ miles in the summer with it. The X Comp isn't out of my affordability, however, if I don't need to spend an extra $200 I wouldn't mind, since the $200 would be able to use to buy accessories, like lights and gps. I know the Carbon frame helps to dampen the shock compared to the alloy, but is it worth the extra $200(comparing Elite Alloy with Elite Carbon)?
