Shimano 10 Speed Compoenents

Is it worth it to continue using Shimano 10 Speed components? I have a 105 10 Speed shimano groupset on my bike and recently needed to replace the rear cassette. It was almost $70. I ride about 4k miles per year. That same cassette cost me 40 bucks 2 years ago.
The 105 groupset works fine and I have done plenty of races on it and the limitations was never the components.
What were your experiences? Did you upgrade the components or just keep stocking them? Or did you guy get a new bike?
