I think after cutting off the cable end to pull the old cable out, you’ll have a hard time re-threading the old cable through the housing without fraying. You may also have a hard time pulling the cable out where it’s been deformed by the brake caliper binder bolt.
I’d go ahead and replace the brake cables while you’re at it.
