I feel fortunate that all I had to deal with was some jasper in a pickup shouting "**** YOU!" at all of us cyclists. It didn't fully register till he passed, mostly due to dopplering.
One time I found myself in the middle of a charity ride, and a passenger in a pickup* was doing the same thing. So as he passed, I gave him a friendly wave and yelled "Hi!", which I think made him mad because I could see him pounding the roof of the cab.
*Why is it always pickups? I know lots of nice people who own/drive pickups, but I've yet to be FU'd by a Prius.
