Yes, or maybe a slightly different possibility, maybe a person is not interested in losing weight, in that, sure it would be nice, but not worth the effort, I'd rather stay comfortable not exercising, and enjoy eating. And a person with that mindset might feel like if their partner suddenly starts eating a lot less and exercising and losing weight, "Hey, I thought we gave up on that together!"
