A 1980 Raleigh Competition G.S.?? and to be clear, you are wanting clincher rims?

700C / 622 BSD rims is what came on my 1978 Raleigh Competition G.S. Unless you have some crazy idea of keeping it original, or vintage, then you can pretty much put anything you want on it. If your's was an American made Raleigh, you might need to double check that it wasn't set up for 27" / 630 BSD wheels and tire.

I've got 622BSD Mavic Open Pro rims laced to Shimano ultegra 6800 that I'm about to put on my 1978 Raleigh Competition G.S. So don't pigeon hole yourself into old wheels when there are plenty of new and good wheels you can put on it.
