I agree that it's the original paint, but I think it's a few years newer than the ones in that catalog. It just has the solid, diagonal transition from color to color, whereas the catalog shows a sort of thorned (I don't know how to describe it) transition. But yes, they had clearly moved past the chromed chainstays by then.

I hope this bike sells soon, or I might be tempted to buy it for my annoying tall brother or something...
