From Nīmes to Uzčs today. I was kind of glad to be out of the flat and wet lands of the Camargue and get back into the Provence hills.
These are my favorite roads. Flowing trough the landscape they offer a nice mix of physical challenges and beautiful scenery.
An unexpected bit of Americana:
The highlight of the day, however, was the
Pont du Gard, an aquaduct built by the Romans 2,000 years ago to transport water into the city of Nīmes. 35,000 tons per day. Stunning.
