My first "real" road racer was a used Trek 660 with Campy Nuovo and Modolo brakes with, check this out, aero levers. Rode the hell out of that bike until the head tube developed a crack. Became my trainer bike until I dialed it up to 400 watts and snapped the right chainstay. A few years later I bought my first MTB. Trek 930. Rode the hell out of that, too. When I decided I didn't want it anymore I put it in the alley with the rest of the trash. Someone took it within two hours. I like to think it's still being ridden today.
The 660 was a heck of a race bike. I had one that I built up into my first CX bike by jamming the skinniest knobbies I could find in there. (Worked great in September. In December, not so much.) I think Trek is missing a trick by not reissuing it as a neo-retro model. Maybe they still have all the lugs in a crate somewhere.
