Right now there's plenty of food and TP in the supply chain. Some things people are stocking up on all at once.

If you really need toilet paper, get up early when the major stores open. Ignore the hand sanitizer and just wash your hands frequently, it's more effective anyways.
That is true for Trader Joes when I went at 2 pm the paper shelves were bare but when I went at 9 am when they opened they had stock, I got that pro tip from a cashier
