Off topic here, but riding yesterday with my wife (her first ride of the season) and I just couldn't resist trying out my studded tires on this completely frozen river. The photo is bad so it looks like there is open water and waves, but it was all frozen, probably 30cms thick at least. Was fun.
I always loved taking my Nokians out on the ice and slamming on the breaks. It took only once to remember to not touch down.
