This was more or less the first touring bike of the modern era that used tires fatter than the then standard 27 x 1 1/4". 35mm will fit for sure. Most likely 38mm will as well.

WRT rear spacing, I think these were 126mm OLD. I used to sell these, but it's been a long time. Most certainly not 130, which was a decade away. 120 was actually still used on some touring bikes well into the 80s. Yeah, so, 7 speed no problem.
