Nothing personal but it is a ludicrous choice. I would not consider riding anywhere without a helmet. Riding in the country is no guarantee against catastrophic equipment failure, critters, rednecks, etc. As far as the shades go the majority tend to prefer ones with rims for safety as well. Wear both, protect yourself, live to ride another day. Blessings
