did you ever find a solution to this?
do you have the 700c model of this bike, with teh bar end shifters and mtb crank? Had a look at the bikes spec, 2018 + one, and its a heck of a nice bike. Excellent touring gearing, nice 12 degree flared bars (I ride with similar ones), great racks that come with it.
the reason I asked about photos is because working around issues like this really is about improvisation, and each case is different.
