Nice present to oneself. For my 40th birthday, 9/6/1992, I purchased a brand new Ochsner steel road bike. I still have that bike and just completed a re-build for it about a month ago, my first attempt at that. I really enjoyed doing the work on it, despite some frustrating issues. In my opinion, it came out really well. I am now looking to change the stem and the handlebar. I do not care much for the look of the stem and I believe I would like a modern, compact handlebar, i.e. Soma highway one.
Awesome! Such a great gift! Every time I see a C&V era derailleur and think about the look of modern ones I think - what the heck happened.
