My wife and I bought this exceptionally expensive couch in 1975. My parents had convinced me to only buy heirloom quality furniture that would last a lifetime, so I kept bugging the salesman and asking a lot of questions. Finally, he says to me, "You're going to be sick of this couch long before it breaks down."

Around 2010, my wife couldn't stand the fabric color anymore and decided to get rid of it. A lady that she knew said her son needed a couch for his frat house at ISU in Normal, IL. I told the kid when he picked it up that I didn't want to see it on the roof of a porch or out in the yard at the frat house. He told me that I better not drive to Normal then.
