20+ y.a. my ex swerved to miss a cat that jumped into her path as she was riding home from the grocery store with some hot dog weiners and buns. She broke her collar bone.... I bought her a new bicycle helmet. Fortunately in Canada there was medical coverage (paid through taxation).
