That was Esai Morales, playing Bob Morales (no relation), Ritchie's half-brother (thus the different last name). Coincidentally, Esai Morales went on later to play attorney Joseph Adama in
Caprica, the "prequel" series to the 21st-Century reboot of
Battlestar Galactica. In BG, Edward James Olmos (from MV) played Cmdr William Adama, Joseph Adama's son.
