Shogun bicycles had a name for themselves - which in all languages roughly translates to 'It Won't Go.' Though nothing can really explain why, these bikes felt like someone was pushing you backwards. They just didn't want to go fast. I don't know if they were just giving the impression of being slow. Or if they really were slow. But they sure felt this way. Many of those came through my shop in the 1980's, and all the owners complained about this phenomena. So I took apart a lot of Shoguns - virtually everyone's in town. I couldn't find a reason for this - but I don't doubt it when 20-something people tell you the same thing.

Bizarre.
