They say there's a no-turnaway policy when you show up on a bike or on foot. I'd take then at their word..you should be fine.
I'd still have the reservation number handy as same-day reservations work..and by that time you will be able to do a one-day stay.
Skip Harrington Beach if you can..great new shower bldg, but the campground is....uninspiring. Kohler Andrae is 20 miles north..it's nicer.
