GPS With barometric altimeter

I've been looking for a GPS that also has altimeter functions, and of course I'm a cheapskate. The best I've found on ebay are some Garmin Edge 500s for about $100.

I looked at Polar and they seem out of my price range. Also looked at Bryton's and for just under 90(I think it was the 310T), you can find one close to similarity in functions as a Garmin Edge 500.

I saw Cateye makes some units, if anyone has knowledge on them, can you inform me whether they have some with barometric altimeters?

Also with storm systems coming in and going, how does the affect the altitude, I mean I assume that the unit compensates and still uses GPS as the primary locator, and the barometer acts a foolproofing so to speak.
