Being an early-90's MTB, the seat-clamp ears are large and flat to accept a special short QR like this one. I'm not sure who needs to adjust their saddle height that often, but it comes in handy when I want to ride the bike -- I just raise the saddle about 4". (It doesn't fit great like that, but it gets the job done.)
I usually put a
binder like this on MTBs with that type of clamp, but mostly because I lock my bikes up in public, and I like having the saddle there when I return
