I've done that occasionally. It's a bit more trouble to lug the whole helmet upstairs, rather than slipping the light into a pocket. But the comments I get are worth it sometimes. "Plugging in your helmet? Why don't you plug in the bike?"

This morning was eye-watering. I'm not sure if it was the cold, the wind, or the bright sun. Since the wind was mostly pushing me, I didn't mind. I must be susceptible to Seasonal Affective Disorder -- sunshine after two days of clouds really brightened my day!
