I don't cycle-commute anymore so I don't have to do this, but...
1. Take the loop and tag end toward the bike, and pull them to the outside.
2. Gather them up along with the outside loop.
3. Take the outside tag end and loop it around the bundle and tuck it under itself, making a half-hitch.
4. All the laces will be to the outside of your foot and can't get caught in anything.
