Lol. Not depressive. I'm being realistic here. It doesn't take long for a new hub to go from fairly quiet to loud.

I had a new wheel set built for my road bike last year. The first 2 weeks of riding it was fairly quiet. That 3rd week and beyond it progressively became louder and now has settled down to about as loud as it will get. All has to do with how much and what type of grease the hub was packed with from the factory.

If you take the hub apart and pack it full of a bunch of grease it will quiet it down for a bit.
