BTW I think this will be the course for the NYS TT champs
Essentially a flat fast 40k. Yeah, the second half you lose SOME elevation, but I wouldn't consider it enough to mess with the pacing. Of course, with a slight headwind on the way out, and the mild elevation gain, one would want to say positive split...

...but, my experience is that a 40k is pretty difficult to pace and you really don't want to get a positive split wrong. I personally would try for flat pacing strategy or even still a negative split power-wise. It is probably best to positive split it, but I know when guys get that wrong, they blow up in such a way that they end up losing BIG time.

If you know you want 300watts for instance, I might stick with 300 flat, or go 290, 300, balls out. The idea of starting out at 320 and then holding on for dear life and hitting 280 on the way back might be too much. Your call.

And the course seems like it would be great for TT champs. I know that I and a lot of the NYC boys would go there because the distance isn't so incredibly stupid to travel! (2 hours for me). When is this happening? Maybe I will come out and ride it.
