Oh. I stand by my statement when in remote areas either hiking or bikepacking imposing on others to determine if something is wrong when you are overdue and then have to go out and find you is irresponsible and selfish. Especially if a reasonable cost alternative is available. Now if you and your family is good with going off the grid solo for a few days or a week then more power to you.
