In my case, I had no option. I had surgery the day after my accident. I don't remember the conversations beforehand, but my wife and daughter understood the risks and that if I didn't I'd be paralyzed. I had a massive concussion and still have a lot of lost memory... But still quite blessed to be able to just walk... I do enjoy reading other people's successes, and not so much other's lesser success. I think we can all lean on each other at times...
