I can't believe I haven't posted in this thread yet. . . I would have sworn I did (
).
I am 51.
1. What type of bikes do 50+ folks ride?
1990 Serotta
1985 Trek 670
1984 Trek 770 (project bike not ridable yet)
Purely a roadie !
2. Do you take any special supplements/vitamins/minerals as you have grown older?
Multi Vitamin along with Glucosamine and Chondroitan (sp?), 81mg Asprin daily.
3. How much do you feel you have "slowed down" if any?
I sarted riding seriously in late 20's (age not year!). Have I slowed down? not really
although I don't ride as much as I did in the past (more to do with time constraints
than anything else).
4. How long have you been biking? since 1977 with a short break in the mid 90's.
5. What type of biking do you do? Long rides, touring, short rec rides, tour, race?
Road. do short rides during the week (10 - 15 nightly) try to get longer rides in
during the weekend (30 miles +), don't race but do participate in organised rides
like HHH and Ride for the Roses.
6. How often do you bike? Your approximate annual mileage?
4 to 5 times a week, expect to avg 3000 miles per year. If I can't get out I ride rollers.
7. Do you do any other type of physical activities - weight lifting, skiing, running, etc.?
I do some (very little) weight training. Scuba dive as often as I can which usually
means teaching at least 1 class per month year round.
