Yeah, I see where you're coming from. But in my case, I'm slower and at lower cadence than I used to be and wouldn't spend much of my time on the single-spaced smaller cogs. Overall, I think that the IRD will give me better spacing for the gears that I use the most compared to the 11-32 Shimano. Ideally I'd have about a 20-speed cassette back there for any combination that I'd want!
