This is what i thought too. After spraying the left lever down with WD40 is when the lever got worse. The tooth that is supposed to engage when shifting was slipping out because of all the lubricant. So then i used a q-tip with some citrus degreaser on it and dabbed around the slipping tooth as much as i could. Then i just let it sit to dry for a bit. Now that tooth is engaging again and is shifting most of the time. Not sure if i chipped or damaged any of the gearing in there when it was slipping because i don't know what it looked like before but i would caution anyone about shooting WD40 into their levers.
