I have found a solution that is both practical and inexpensive. I use Zinc Oxide paste (40%), usually sold as Diaper Rash Ointment. This can be found everywhere and is very cheap. It is better than Vaseline because it will not stain your clothes. It does not sweat off, but will come off in the laundry. It is a good solution to any chafing problem.

Just a thought - Chamois butter? Wouldn't it have similar ingredients?

It's not just cotton. I use real bike jerseys, and I didn't think they rippled in the breeze that much, but in the last few weeks I have developed a severe case of this. Getting in the shower this afternoon, it felt like somebody was shoving thumb tacks into them.

My kids have had this problem with rash guards (the shirts surfers use) while at the beach. They have used the little round bandage method with much success.
