I bought my first decent bike in perhaps the same year as you. It was a near new Schwinn Super Sport. Chrome Moly too. I have ridden it for 40 years. Grew up in small town of Fremont, so when you bought a bike, you went to the local dealer. I am just now as I near retirement enjoying some of the finer things. Your Super would be all I would need.
The super was my first lbs bike too. No more department store hunk of junks for me after that. Enjoy your retirement when the time comes.
