I've been thinking of building one of these flat-bar road bikes from a very-slightly used late-'80s Schwinn Tempo frame I have laying around that is a little too small for me (56 as I ride a 58cm) as a road bike but should fit fine as a set-up like this. At my age (over fifty) I don't really care about "getting into the drops" and I rarely use them, anyway. This thread is inspiring me to do just that.
