Anyway I find these posts amusing. Every single enthusiast site for anything has these posts all the time.
Do you need a new bike?
Look for a nice older bike from the last several years. (As was briefly stated above)
$1000 will get you a nice bike that's a few years old.
And do you really need a mountain bike? Need to spend a grand?
