It was an MG. You keep all sorts of things in the boot, just in case. For example, I was heading North on the Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike, and going through a tunnel, when I heard a scraping noise. I thought, "HA! Some poor bugger just dropped his exhaust pipe!" Then the sound didn't get closer or farther away, so I looked in the mirror and saw the sparks coming out the back. I was 'some poor bugger'.
Once out of the tunnel, I pulled over onto the verge. Rear hanger broken. I had two of those screw-type radiator hose clamps, so I jury rigged a hanger and hooked it over the bumper support. That actually lasted me quite some time!
