I've never heard of anyone doing that but I imagine that it's possible if the HRM in the Apple Watch can transmit via BTLE. However, I would tend to think that since the HRM is built into the watch, it probably doesn't since there really isn't a need to do normally do so. The only way to find out is to try it. It would be interesting to know what the results are.
